This intimate summer BBQ wedding at The Rectory Hotel in Crudwell, Malmesbury, was the most dreamy perfect day. I absolutely loved photographing it and being a part of the fun. This beautiful old country house is an intimate boutique hotel that Katie and Jamie hired exclusively for their guests. The venue created the most INCREDIBLE dining experience for their guests, the food was second to none. Katie and Jamie told me they wanted to create what felt like a family BBQ vibe – nothing too formal, just loads of fun with their faves. And they did just that.
It was my kind of day. They laughed solidly for the whole time! It was filled with music and party vibes, silliness, so much incredible food, a healthy sprinkling of mischief, human pyramids, headstands, a mean game of hook a duck, cricket and old-school garage tunes to finish the night off.
And they welcomed me like one of the family which is always so lovely.
The Details
Their styling was minimal and classy. Beautiful green and white florals finished with gold accents. They seated guests in their individual family/friendship groups as they didn’t want anyone having awkward conversations, and they sat on their own romantic table for 2. The BBQ food was spectacular, and they held speeches outdoors before dinner so that everybody could get stuck into the food as soon as they sat down. Their cake, at James’ request, was mainly made of doughnuts, topped with a beautiful mini cake from the Bake Stop.

Katie & James wanted bright, colourful, relaxed, and unforced wedding photos which captured the fun of their day. Nothing too stiff and posed. We had some fun with the group shots of groomsmen and bridesmaids ( a tribe to be reckoned with!!) They spent very little time posing for the camera, instead using it to have fun with their favourite people. Any couples photos that we took were achieved in no more than 15 minutes.
